Carlos Estrella represents three generations of coffee farming in Buenos Aires, Nariño. His 9-hectare farm, La Estrella, sits at 2200 meters elevation with 20,000 coffee plants. Starting in 2006, Carlos later pioneered innovative varieties in 2012, introducing rare cultivars that were uncommon in the region at the time.
La Estrella has earned consistent recognition in competition. In 2020, the farm placed among the top 30 at Cup of Excellence. Most recently in 2023, Carlos took 2nd place with a natural-processed Geisha and 3rd place with a natural-processed Caturra in a regional Nariño competition.
